Standings Heating Up!

The end of January has arrived in the NCHA and the race for the regular-season titles on both sides continues to heat up.

On the men’s side, the top three current seeds – Aurora, St. Norbert, and Adrian – are all competing in weekend series against programs from the middle of the pack. And on Friday night, each of the three teams posted victories – with the Bulldogs and Green Knights winning relatively comfortably (especially after two goals in 11 seconds for SNC!), while the Spartans needed a goal from Matt Weber in overtime to keep hold of their four-point lead in the standings.

On the women’s side, St. Norbert needed a third-period goal to get past Marian by a final score of 2-1 to stay unbeaten at 10-0-1 (31 points), while Adrian (26 points) blanked Lake Forest, 4-0, and Aurora (26 points) downed Trine by a final score of 4-1. Lawrence also broke through for its first league victory, knocking off Finlandia by the same 4-1 scoreline.
