Northland College Hockey Mourns Loss of Chris Morgan

ASHLAND, WI - A message from Head Men's Hockey Coach - Seamus Gregory

LumberJack Hockey Friends, Family & Alumni-

"This past weekend we recieved some untimely and tragic news that one of our current players; Junior Defeneseman, #27 Chris Morgan has passed. Chris was a true LumberJack - hardworking, dedicated and passionate. He will be missed by everyone in our locker room, Athletic Department, campus community & beyond. Chris was a competitor, an unbelievable teammate who believed in LumberJack Hockey. He had great respect for its past and was a key piece of where we are today and where we are going tomorrow. For the alumni, family and friends and future players who didn't have the opportunity to play with "Miggy", the best way to describe him is he would block a shot for anyone, anytime, up by 3 in the 1st period or down by 5 in the 3rd, it didn't matter. He will forever be missed, never forgotten and always loved. Please keep his family, loved ones and teammates in your thoughts and prayers".

A native of Rochester Hills, MI, Chris was part of Coach Gregory and Coach Lennon's first recruiting class at Northland College, joining LumberJack Hockey in the Fall of 2015 after a Junior Hockey career with the Gloucester Rangers of the CCHL. Chris graduated high school from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School in 2013.

The 22 year-old Morgan skated in two seasons for LumberJack Hockey, competing in 34 games, tallying 2 goals and 5 assists.
