Concordia Men and St. Scholastica Women
Lead Way as NCHA Names All-Academic Teams

With the 2013-14 season officially having reached its conclusion late last month, the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association has announced today the members of the men’s and women’s 2013-14 NCHA All-Academic Teams.

Concordia University Wisconsin led the way on the men’s side, having 14 players from its roster earn spots on the squad. On the women’s side, St. Scholastica topped the field with 10 players.

Highlighting the way, five men’s representatives are earning the academic distinction for the third time in their careers, reaching the maximum (players need to sophomores to be considered). They are Robbie Bailey (Marian), West Bauman (MSOE), Chris Gard (Lake Forest), Devin Schmitt (MSOE) and William Thoren (Lawrence).

For the women, 12 student-athletes are three-time winners: Ashley Biehl (St. Norbert), Briget Cojocar (St. Scholastica), Michelle Fischer (St. Scholastica), Siera Hache (Finlandia), Laurel Hill (St. Norbert), Megan Malwitz (Finlandia), Cara McMannis (St. Scholastica), Elizaveta Monakhova (Finlandia), Brooke Nicholson (St. Norbert), Dani Rozon (St. Norbert), Briana Stephens (St. Scholastica) and Ashley Wilson (St. Norbert).
