DULUTH, Minn. -- Trailing 2-1 after one period, the Augsburg University men's hockey team scored four unanswered goals in the second period, en route to a 6-3 nonconference victory over the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Five different Auggies recorded multiple-point nights in the victory, as Augsburg extended its unbeaten streak to nine straight games (7-0-2).

Luke Dietsch (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and
Lukas Gillett (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) scored a goal and two assists each for the Auggies, while
Alex Rodriguez (SR, Miami, Fla./Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) HS) and
Eric Brenk (SR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) scored a goal with an assist each.
Tommy Carey (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) had two assists.
• Dietsch and Brenk scored power-play goals 59 seconds apart in the second period, giving the Auggies a 3-2 lead. In the closing minutes,
Austin Dollimer (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) and
Chandler Madry (SR, Bakersfield, Calif./Fairbanks (Alaska) BEST HS) scored even-strength goals, as Augsburg claimed a 5-2 lead.
• Gillett scored his first goal of the season at the 12:26 mark of the first period, and Rodriguez capped the scoring with an empty-net goal in the final minute of play, his team-best 13th goal of the season.
• St. Scholastica outshot Augsburg by a 37-34 margin in the game, with a 21-5 advantage in the third period.
Nick Schmit (SR, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) had 34 saves in goal for Augsburg, moving to 6-0-2 on the year.

• Rodriguez's 13 goals are tops among
Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players and are tied for the most
among all NCAA Division III players nationally. His 1.08 goals per-game average is third-best nationally.
FOR THE FOES
• Michael Talbot and Cole Golka scored power-play goals for St. Scholastica in the first period, and Sam Fuss scored a power-play goal in the third period.
• Nick Trenciansky had 24 saves in 40 minutes of play for the Saints, while Zane Steeves had four saves in relief.
