St. Norbert’s Moore and Aurora’s Pfosi Pick Up
NCHA Women’s Hockey Weekly Honors
St. Norbert College freshman Jordan Moore (F - Gurnee, Ill.) is the NCHA Women’s Offensive Player of the Week and Aurora University junior Chiara Pfosi (G - Ipsach, Switzerland) is the NCHA Women’s Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Moore is the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week after posting a league-best five points (1G/4A) in St. Norbert’s weekend sweep of Finlandia. Moore had an assist in Friday’s game and then put together a four-point outburst (1G/3A/assist on game-winner) in the Green Knight’s 6-1 victory to close out the weekend sweep. Moore was +6 on the weekend.
Pfosi is the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season and the third time in her career after playing a significant role in Aurora’s run out to a perfect 8-0 start to the campaign. She was impressive on the weekend, helping the Spartans claim 4-3 overtime and 4-1 regulation victories over Lake Forest. She made 80 saves in the two games with a 39-save performance in the overtime victory and a 41-save performance in the 4-1 decision. The 8-0 mark already ties the school record for most wins (third year of existence) set in 2018-2019.
2019-20 NCHA WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS
Morgan Bolin, Marian
Bolin scored the only Marian goal of the weekend, her third tally of the season, while the Sabres were on the power play of their series opener against CUW.
Maggie Cusey, Marian
Cusey stood on her head all weekend long as Marian earned a point on the road in their series with CUW. Cusey allowed a pair of goals in a tough 2-1 loss in the opener where she made 45 saves. She followed that up with a 46-save shutout in the finale to lead the Sabres to a tie with the Falcons. For the weekend she made 91 saves with a 0.98 goals-against average and .978 save percentage. Cusey also helped the penalty kill unit to a perfect weekend holding CUW scoreless on eight power plays.
Lori Huseby, St. Scholastica
In Saturday night’s win at Northland, Huseby stopped all 23 shots to earn her first win of the season and earn her sixth career shutout.
Denisa Jandova, Adrian
Jandova backstopped two Bulldog victories over the weekend, collecting her third-consecutive shutout in Friday’s 3-0 win at Trine. The goaltender stopped all 24 shots she faced in Angola, Ind. On Saturday, the sophomore made 17 saves on 18 shots, collecting her sixth win of the season. Jandova finished the weekend with 41 saves, a .976 save percentage and a .50 GAA.
Olivia Matson, Aurora
Matson helped Aurora remain unbeaten on the season with a 4-3 overtime and a 4-1 regulation win over Lake Forest. Matson two goals in the 4-3 overtime win and added two helpers in the 4-1 victory while also going 23-of-53 from the face-off dot. Aurora is now 8-0 which ties the school record for wins (third year of existence) set in 2018-2019.
Jessica VonRuden, Adrian
The sophomore led the #2 Adrian Bulldogs to another 2-0 weekend, as they remain perfect in conference and on the season. In Friday’s 3-0 win at Trine, VonRuden had two points on a goal and an assist. She also led the team in shots with 7. On Saturday, the forward added another assist, helping Nicole Guagliardo to collect an empty-netter to seal the deal on the 3-1 victory. VonRuden finished the weekend with 3 points (1g, 2a), a team-best 16 shots and a plus/minus ranking of +3, while going 18-24 at the faceoff circle.

THE BIRTH OF A CONFERENCE
Where did we start? Without a “How To” guide, the existing NCHA Men’s Conference leadership held a special meeting on April 8, 2000 at the
Arrowhead Lodge in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
After three hours of hammering out details, it was decided that Lake Forest, UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Superior would be the five charter members of the league.
The following day at the official spring meeting, which was led by then-NCHA President and Stevens Point Director of Athletics Frank O’Brien,
the plan was ratified and the league was “born”.
