Sweep NCHA Women’s Hockey Weekly Honors
Adrian College senior Jacqueline White (F - Royal Oak, Mich.) is the NCHA Women’s Offensive Player of the Week and senior teammate Kelly O’Sullivan (D - Inverness, Ill.) is the NCHA Women’s Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

White is the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career following an impressive eight-point showing (4G/4A on just five shots) in a weekend sweep of Marian. In Friday’s contest, she equaled her career high with three goals and five points for game-high honors. Then on Saturday, she posted a game-best three points on a goal and two assists.
O’Sullivan is the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career after a huge weekend against Marian. She tallied eight points on a goal and seven assists, becoming Adrian’s all-time leader in goals (26), assists (70) and total points (96) by a defenseman in the process. In Friday’s 10-0 win against the Sabres, she tied for the game-high with five points on a goal and four assists. Then in Saturday’s 8-0 victory to complete the sweep, she posted a game-best three assists. She led all skaters with 15 shots on goal, in addition to helping the team defense record back-to-back shutouts. She also assisted the game-winning goal in each contest.
2019-20 NCHA WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS
Theresa DiMaggio, Trine
DiMaggio came up big on Saturday for the Thunder, recording the lone goal of the contest as the team picked up the 1-0 road win to finish the weekend with a split with Concordia University Wisconsin.
Olyvia Opsahl, Lake Forest
Opsahl had three assists during Lake Forest’s sweep of St. Scholastica over the weekend. She set up the team’s first and fifth scores in Friday night’s 6-5 victory and the opening goal in Saturday afternoon’s 2-1 triumph. Opsahl was +4 in the series.
Chiara Pfosi, Aurora
Pfosi claimed her second shutout of the season on Saturday in a 4-0 win over Finlandia and swept the weekend as Aurora stayed unbeaten at 6-0, 2-0 NCHA. She made 25 saves on 28 shots over the two game series sweep.
Molly Scarborough, Trine
Scarborough turned in her first shutout of the season on Saturday as the Thunder picked up a 1-0 victory over host’s Concordia University Wisconsin. The win gave the team the weekend split. She finished the series with 56 saves.
Breanna Thomson, Concordia Wisconsin
Thomson made a season-high 39 saves on Friday and averaged 1.00 GAA on the weekend against Trine. The loss was a tough 1-0 decision.
Marisa Trevino, Aurora
Trevino helped Aurora remain unbeaten on the season with a four-goal weekend that included her first career hat trick in the Spartans 6-3 win on Friday night. She then added her fourth goal in the Spartans 4-0 win over Finlandia on Saturday.

During this historic 20th season of women’s hockey, the NCHA will celebrate everything that has made our conference special. Players will wear commemorative helmet decals with the start of the conference schedule, November 15th. Postseason game pucks will feature the special 20th season logo. In addition, the weekly release will include a section highlighting historical events.

Our First NCAA Tournament Team
UW-River Falls made history for its program and the NCHA Women’s Conference when it became the first team from the newly-formed league to be selected to the NCAA Tournament in 2003.
The Falcons took an 11-game unbeaten streak into the NCAAs and promptly made it 12 with a convincing 5-1 win over St. Thomas in the quarterfinals.
UW-River Falls would lose in the semifinals to host and eventual-national champion Elmira in a tight 2-1 decision. Emotionally drained from that game, the Falcons lost to Bowdoin in the third place game.
Nevertheless, the 2002-03 UWRF Falcons will forever be a part of history, representing the first NCAA Tournament appearance and victory for the NCHA.
