Trine’s DiMaggio and Marian’s Strainis Earn
NCHA Women’s Hockey Weekly Honors
Trine University freshman Theresa DiMaggio (F - Shelby Township, Mich.) is the NCHA Women’s Offensive Player of the Week and Marian University senior Lindsey Strainis (G - Green Bay, Wis.) is the NCHA Women’s Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

DiMaggio is the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week after helping Trine University to a weekend split on the road at Chatham. She tallied the first three goals of her young career, with the first two leading the charge in the 5-2 victory Friday. DiMaggio got the Thunder on the board midway through the first period and finished off the evening with an insurance marker late. Saturday, she lit the lamp to swing momentum her team’s way and start a comeback, which came up just short in a 3-2 setback.
Strainis is the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season and an impressive eighth time in her collegiate career. Strainis put up some formidable numbers in goal over the weekend, helping Marian University to a 1-1 draw with Saint Mary’s while also suffering a tough 2-1 setback in overtime against Saint Benedict. She started the weekend with 28 stops Friday and followed that up with 37 more the next day, finishing the weekend with a .956 save percentage and 1.41 goals-against average.

Anais Aurard, St. Norbert
Aurard made 43 saves in 6-2 loss to Hamline Saturday and 20 saves in two periods in 6-0 loss to Hamline Sunday.
Abbey Dokken, Marian
Dokken scored the first goal of the game against Saint Mary’s, standing up as the game-tying goal in the 1-1 overtime final.
Lauren Michael, St. Norbert
Michael scored both goals in Friday’s 6-2 loss to Hamline. She now stands in at third in the NCHA with 14 points and second with eight goals.
Kirsten Vandenheuvel, Trine
Vandenheuvel recorded two crucial points for the Thunder in their weekend split with Chatham University. She started the weekend by scoring the game-winner on Friday night. Then she added an assist in the team’s first goal on Saturday, breaking up a shutout and starting the team’s comeback attempt.
