Northland College’s Scott and Adrian College’s Jandova
Tabbed for NCHA Women’s Hockey Weekly Honors
Northland College junior Samantha Scott (F - Fergus, Ontario) is the NCHA Women’s Offensive Player of the Week and Adrian College freshman Denisa Jandova (G - Vejprnice, Czech Republic) is the NCHA Women’s Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Scott is the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career after her offensive heroics put Northland College in line for its first-ever postseason berth. Scott was key in the Jills’ sweep over Trine University, playing a role in five of Northland’s seven goals. On Friday, she recorded two assists in the 3-1 victory, setting up the equalizer after her team fell behind 1-0, while also assisting the game-winner. She topped that Saturday with three goals, powering Northland back from a 2-0 hole with a natural hat trick for a 3-2 lead - lighting the lamp once in each period. Scott also nearly accounted for the winner, until the Thunder added a late goal with an extra attacker in the 4-3 decision.
Jandova is the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week following her performance in goal against St. Norbert College. She picked up two wins to improve to 6-0-1 while starting both contests of a weekend series for the first time in her career in posting a 1.50 GAA and a .925 save percentage. She stopped 37 of 40 shots over the two games, only letting the first attempt in Friday while making 18 of 20 saves on Saturday. Friday’s game included turning aside all shots on Green Knight power plays to kill all nine Adrian penalties, including two five-on-three situations.
2018-19 NCHA WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS
Amy Budde, Lake Forest
Budde turned in a five-point weekend as Lake Forest won twice at Marian to clinch home ice in the quarterfinals of the Slaats Cup Playoffs. She started the scoring in Friday’s 5-3 triumph with a shorthanded goal and added an assist later in the opening period. With the visiting leading 4-2 in the third, she tacked on an insurance goal to help secure the victory. Budde also found the back of the net twice in Saturday night’s 5-0 win and continues to lead the league in goals with 18 this season.
Tory Harshman, Adrian
Harshman scored three goals and added an assist in two games in a sweep over St. Norbert. On Friday, she tied the game at one and then scored what would be the game-winning goal just before the end of the first. She then assisted on Adrian’s first goal on Saturday and scored AC’s final goal of the game.
Jamie Henrickson, Marian
Henrickson scored a goal during a series against Lake Forest in what was her final games at home in a Sabre sweater.
Kennedy Houge, St. Scholastica
In Saturday’s 8-2 win over Aurora, Houge recorded a career-high three assists. She has now matched a career-high with nine assists this season.
Alexia Klaas, St. Scholastica
In a sweep of Aurora, Klaas scored two goals and added two assists for a four-point weekend. She had an assist in Friday’s 2-0 win and then had two goals and an assist in Saturday’s 8-2 triumph. Klaas has 10 points in the last five games and became the third Saint to eclipse 40 goals and 30 assists in a career.
Christina Pattengale, Concordia Wisconsin
Pattengale had 31 saves in 100:00 minutes of action against Finlandia over the weekend as the Falcons secured a Slaats Cup playoff spot. The senior allowed only one goal in the opening game and shut out the Lions through two periods of work in the series finale. She posted a .969 save percentage as the Falcons swept the series.
Lindsey Strainis, Marian
Strainis made 75 saves during an NCHA series against Lake Forest. In the finale, she made 42 saves marking the second time this season she has made more than 40 saves in a game.
Natasha Wanless, Concordia Wisconsin
Wanless led the Falcons with three goals in a two-game series sweep to help the Falcons secure a Slaats Cup playoff spot. The junior had the game-winner in her two-goal opening game and contributed with another in the finale as the Falcons swept the Lions.
