College of St. Scholastica’s Anderson and Huseby
Sweep NCHA Women’s Hockey Weekly Honors

College of St. Scholastica sophomore Rachel Anderson (F - Shoreview, Minn.) is the NCHA Women’s Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore teammate Lori Huseby (G - Babbitt, Minn.) is the NCHA Women’s Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Anderson is the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week after playing a key role in the Saints weekend sweep of St. Norbert College that moved them into a tie for second place in the league standings. Anderson had a goal and an assist in both games to extend per point streak to eight in a row. Friday she had an early assist and the first goal of the second period to put the game away. Saturday, Anderson assisted the first tally just 16 seconds into the game and extended the CSS lead to 3-1 with her goal midway through the second. She now leads the NCHA in assists (13) and points (18).

Huseby is the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week after posting back-to-back wins in two starts over weekend against St. Norbert College. In all, Huseby stopped 38 of 39 shots (.974 save percentage) to lead the Saints to a sweep of the Green Knights, including her second shutout of the season Friday. She is now 4-0 on the season and the only goal she allowed all weekend came on the power play, resulting in a 0.54 GAA in the two contests.


2018-19 NCHA WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

Shelly Czarnowczan, Adrian
Czarnowczan scored in both games this weekend, going +4. Had a power play goal and two assists on Friday and added another goal and assist on Saturday.

Tory Harshman, Adrian
Harshman scored in both games this weekend, including twice on Saturday as part of a four-point night - a new career high.

Kristen Kennedy, Concordia
Kennedy led the Falcons in their 2-1 win over Northland, scoring both goals to help CUW to their fifth win of the season.

Lindsay Lewison, Marian
Lewison posted a 1.48 goals against average for the week in her first two starts of the year. Lewison opened the week with a 31-save performance against UW-Stevens Point before she earned her first win of the year in the finale with Finlandia. The Prior Lake, Minn. would make 18 saves against the Lions to finish the week with 49 saves to go with a .942 save percentage.

Christina Pattengale, Concordia
Pattengale had 46 saves in two games for the Falcons against Northland. The senior held the Lumberjacks to a single goal in the series finale as the Falcons won 2-1.

Chiara Pfosi, Aurora
Pfosi set an AU record with 71 saves in the series opener at Adrian College and then added 40 more saves in game two. She had a .910 save percentage on the weekend with 111 saves.

Julieana Tarantino, Lake Forest
Tarantino earned her first career shutout in Lake Forest’s 2-0 triumph at Trine on Saturday. The sophomore stopped all 15 shots on goal she faced in the opening period and turned away 21 in the contest. She is now 3-0-1 with a 1.22 goals against average on the year.

Natalie West, Marian
West had a pair of goals in three games as Marian went 2-1 on the week. West scored the lone Sabre goal in a 2-1 loss to UW-Stevens Point before leading Marian past Finlandia. In the finale of the series with the Lions, West netted the game-winner in overtime to secure the first sweep of the year for Marian.
