Adrian Women's Hockey Named Top Dawgs in Both NCAA Polls

MINNEAPOLIS –
The Adrian College women's hockey team rose to the top spot in the United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) poll in the latest edition, released on Monday, Nov. 26. The Bulldogs totaled 146 points in the poll and picked up 11 of 14 first-place votes. Adrian also claimed the top spot in the Bloomington, Minn.-based D3hockey.com poll with 142 points and 10 first-place votes. This is the first time in program history the Bulldogs have been ranked number one in the country.

Adrian's rise to the top comes on the heels of the Bulldogs winning the Panther/Cardinal Classic last weekend, where all four teams were ranked in the top-five of last week's polls. The Black and Gold took down second-ranked Plattsburgh State 1-0 in Saturday's semifinal in a rematch of the 2017 National Championship. It was the Bulldogs' first win over the Cardinals in program history, snapping a five-game losing streak. Sophomore forward Neysa Miller's first period goal was the first goal Plattsburgh State had allowed all year. AC followed that performance up by beating the hosts and fourth-ranked Middlebury Panthers 4-1 in the championship game. Sophomore goaltender Kate Turner made 41 saves over the weekend and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. Joining Turner on the All-Tournament Team were junior forwards Brianna Buchanan and Maggie Mitter.

The Bulldogs return home this weekend for a series with conference foes Aurora. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. This weekend's games are also a Holiday Toy and Clothes Drive for the Associated Charities of Lenawee Country. Fans are encouraged to donate new and gently used toys, coats, gloves, and scarves to be distributed by the charities.
