The first preseason national poll of the year came out today, courtesy of U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO), and Adrian was the lone NCHA team to get recognition. The Bulldogs, who won the NCHA regular season and playoff titles last year, are ranked sixth heading into opening weekend this Friday through Sunday. Adrian represented the NCHA in the NCAA Tournament last year but fell in the opening round in a tight game with rival Elmira.
The NCHA opens play this weekend with 14 non-conference contests. Nine of the league's ten member schools are in action this weekend.
