Morgan is the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and assisted on two others in Lake Forest’s three-point weekend against visiting St. Scholastica. Her power-play goal in Friday’s 4-1 triumph helped her team overcome a 1-0 first-period deficit, tying the score at one early in the second period. Lake Forest then trailed 3-1 on Saturday before she assisted on the team’s second tally, scored a goal to tie the game, and set up the go-ahead goal in an eventual 4-4 tie.

Strainis is the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks and the league-best fourth time this season. The sophomore netminder posted her third shutout of the campaign, making 26 saves to defeat Finlandia 6-0 in the series opener as the Sabres went over the .500 mark at 8-7-1 after completing the weekend sweep - setting a school record for victories in season in the process.

As the league hits mid-January, the race for the regular-season title is starting to take shape. Adrian has a firm grasp on its third crown in a row, sitting at a perfect 10-0-0 (20 points) with a chance to build with three games this week. The Bulldogs remain the No. 4 team in the land in both national polls. Lake Forest is not far behind in either the polls (No. 7 in each) or the title chase, posting a 7-1-1 ledger and 15 points in one less game played than Adrian.
