Lupi is the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week after her play earned her a spot on the East-West Classic All-Tournament Team this past weekend. She lit the lamp four times against the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country, nearly helping the Bulldogs to a pair of impressive wins. Saturday, she brought Adrian back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period with back-to-back goals, forcing #1 Plattsburgh into overtime before falling. Then, Sunday, she netted the first and the last goals of the contest against #2 Elmira in a 5-3 victory. The first goal of the game was a power play goal that put the Bulldogs up 1-0 in the first period. Her second goal came in the final minute and put the game out of reach.

Rogers lays claim to the first NCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors of her career by topping a tough field, not allowing a goal in net in her two games on the week. Rogers finished off her first career shutout in the Foresters’ 4-0 victory at Saint Mary’s Friday night and then posted another one less than 20 hours later as the visitors prevailed 5-0. She tallied 19 saves in the series opener and turned away each of the Cardinals’ 18 shots on goal in game two.

The NCHA returned to the ice in 2017 with nearly every team in action, including the College of St. Scholastica taking on the Korean National Team and winning 3-0 Sunday in an exhibition game. Each contest this past week was non-league play, with conference action returning this week.

2016-17 NCHA WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

Baylee Darling, Concordia

Darling scored the game-winning goal with 1:14 remaining in regulation of a 2-1 win over Bethel Saturday, helping the Falcons complete the weekend sweep of the Royals. Darling had just the one point on the weekend but posted a +2 over the two wins.

Ally Fox, Marian
Fox had a big weekend to help the Sabres sweep a pair of MIAC teams. She opened the weekend having a hand in all three Sabre goals in a 3-0 win over Hamline. Fox would net a pair of goals in the win including the game-winner and assisted the third. Fox totaled five points on the weekend coming from three goals and a pair of assists and is currently sixth in the NCHA with eight goals.

Veronika Metanova, Concordia
Metanova played a role in four of the Falcons five goals this weekend as CUW was able to gain two non-conference wins at Bethel. The senior scored two shorthanded goals in the second period in a 3-1 win Friday night. She became the second player in program history to score two shorthanded goals in one game. Metanova assisted on both goals in a 2-1 win Saturday, including Baylee Darling’s game-winning score late in the third period.

Kelly O’Sullivan, Adrian
O’Sullivan scored four points in two games (1g, 3a). Her goal was Adrian’s first goal of the weekend against the defending NCAA DIII National Champion and current No. 1 ranked team Plattsburgh St. One of her three assists came on the game-winning goal against #2 Elmira on Sunday.

Isabel Regine, Lake Forest
After scoring her first career game-winning goal Friday night in her 88th game as a Forester, Regine netted her second less than 24 hours later. She was the first to score in the Foresters’ 4-0 victory in the series opener and in a 5-0 triumph on Saturday. Regine was +4 for the weekend.

Lindsey Strainis, Marian
Strainis continued her hot play of late only allowing two goals on the weekend as Marian swept a pair of MIAC teams. Strainis opened the weekend with her second shutout of the year in a 37-save 3-0 win over Hamline. She then stopped 24 shots to complete the MIAC sweep with a win over Saint Benedict. Her weekend totals included 61 saves and a .968 save percentage to go with a 1.00 goals against average.
