Budde becomes the third different Forester to earn NCHA Offensive Player of the Week honors this season. Budde helped lead Lake Forest to a pair of victories at Marian University over the weekend, allowing them to keep pace with first-place Adrian College and set up an opportunity at the NCHA regular-season crown. She scored to break a 1-1 tie with less than five minutes to play and added an empty net goal late in a 3-1 triumph Saturday. The team’s leading scorer then followed that up by scoring the third goal and assisting on the fourth and fifth in Sunday’s 5-0 win. She finished the week with 5 points (3G/2A).

Rogers claims NCHA Defensive Player of the Week for the second time during her initial season with the Foresters. She surrendered just one goal in Lake Forest’s sweep of the host Sabres over the weekend and continued her climb up the national rankings. She made 19 saves in LFC’s 3-1 victory on Saturday and 23 more in the 5-0 triumph Sunday to record her fourth shutout of the season and a .977 save percentage for the weekend. Rogers is now third in the nation in goals-against average (1.00) and 10th in save percentage (.948).

It all comes down to the final weekend for the winner of the Kronschnabel Trophy, given to the regular-season champion. Adrian - which has moved up to No. 2 in both polls - holds the top spot at an undefeated 16-0-0 (32 points). However, the Foresters can reach 33 points with a sweep of the two home games that remain against the Bulldogs. St. Scholastica also has a spot locked up, while the No. 4 seed will either be Concordia - which is done with league play at 14 points - or Marian, which has two games left (with 12 points) and holds the tie-breaker.
