Saturday: Home Ice Turned Upside Down

It was a road-warrior type of night Saturday in the action on the NCHA Women’s side of things, with Adrian College improving on a stellar season with its 10th win in a row. The Bulldogs topped St. Scholastica, 3-0, to move to 16-0 in NCHA play this year and made it 30 games unbeaten (29-0-1) in conference play dating back to the beginning of last season.

Also doing damage on the road was Marian University picking up a 2-1 win at Concordia University Wisconsin and Lake Forest blanking St. Norbert, 2-0, on a goal and assist from Olivia Spellmire and 39 saves (the most in a shutout in team history) from Jacqueline Audet, who improved to 8-1-1 with her second shutout in a row.

On the men’s side, St. Norbert completed a weekend sweep of a Northland team that came in playing very well, while St. Scholastica earned the split with Concordia by claiming a 5-3 victory. Seven different players scored for the Foresters in a 7-1 win over Aurora and Marian topped Finlandia, 5-1.
