Bulldogs; Foresters on to Title Game

The NCHA Slaats Cup Semifinals have gone final!

Adrian College handled its series, topping Marian University by a score of 5-1 Saturday night to make it a 2-0 sweep following the 4-0 shutout Friday.

Lake Forest College did not have the same simple route, going the distance – and then some – to finally earn the series win late Saturday by topping St. Scholastica in double overtime of a mini-game on a goal by Amy Budde.

That mini-game was made possible after the Saints responded with a 2-0 victory in the second game of the series. The Foresters grabbed a game one win by a score of 2-1 Friday.

Adrian College (25-2-0) and Lake Forest College (21-5-1) will play in the Slaats Cup Finals on Saturday, March 4 in Adrian, Michigan.

Sophomore forward Amy Budde scored the winning goal in the second overtime of a decisive minigame on Saturday to send the Lake Forest College women's hockey team to next Saturday's Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Final.

Budde's goal was the Foresters' only score in more than 100 minutes of hockey on the night and, technically, it does not even count on her tally for the season.
