Marian's Dave Chipman Finalist for US College Hockey Online Player of the Year
Marian College senior Dave Chipman (Winnipeg, Manitoba) is one of ten finalist for the US College Hockey Online Division III Player of the Year.
Chipman, the MCHA Player of the Year, ranked among the national leaders this season in power play goals (1st, 12), game-winning goals (2nd, 6), goals per game (2nd, 1.32), points per game (5th, 2.24).

Minnesota, Crookston Goalie Dickson Named US College Hockey Online Division II/III Defensive Player of the Week
Minnesota-Crookston goalie Mike Dickson (Carleton Place, Ontario) was US College Hockey Online Division II/III Defensive Player of the Week
The freshman led the Golden Eagles to a weekend sweep of Augsburg College as he made 42 saves in a 3-0 shutout Friday night and another 42 saves in a  2-1 win on Saturday.
Dickson, a sport and recreation management major, posted a .50 GAA and a .988 save percentage for the weekend.

Northland Gets in Tourney Thanks to

Northland College claimed the final spot in the season ending MCHA Tournament even though they dropped two games at Marian.
The ‘Jacks had their ticket to the tournament punched by MSOE who took a pair of game from Lawrence
Player of the Week
MSOEhas been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Carrico, a Business major, stopped all 21 Lawrence shots on Friday to record his 3rd shutout of the season, then padded 33 Viking shots in a 5-2 win on Saturday.

MCHA Tournament Preview

Four MCHA Teams will come together this coming weekend to close out the league’s second year with the MCHA Tournament. Following below is a team-by-team breakdown of the "Final Four."
(1) Minn-Crookston
The Golden Eagles soared through their first year of MCHA competition with a 10-0 record...UMC scored an average of 6.2 goals a game versus MCHA competition...Their first opponent in the tourney, Northland, was the only MCHA team the Golden Eagles played four times, and in their last match-up they grabbed a 4-2 win.
(2) Marian

The Sabres are winners of 8-straight games, all versus MCHA opponents...Marian lost just two MCHA games this year at Minn-Crookston...They met MSOE in the first round of last years tourney and came away with a 4-1 win...Marian is MCHA’s top scoring team averaging 6.57 goals per game in league play.
(3) MSOE

The host Raiders have won 7 of their last 9 games...Those two losses though were to first round tournament opponent, Marian...Last year’s tourney was not kind to MSOE as they fell to both Marian and Northland.
(4) Northland
The Lumberjacks do not have a win against any of the other three teams in the tourney...NC is 0-10-1 over their last 11 games...Last year the ‘Jacks came in a scored a 6-4 win against MSOE in the MCHA consolation game.

Marian Must Rally to Win Two at Lawrence

Last time Marian College and Lawrence University met on the ice the Sabres outscored the Vikings, 25-2. The second time around was not as easy for Marian.

Although Lawrence failed to win either of their two games with Marian College this past weekend, Henderson kept the Vikings in both games as he had 117 saves on 128 shots over the weekend.

Marian Fills One More Piece of Tournament Puzzle with MSOE Sweep

Marian College filled one more piece of the MCHA Tournament picture by sweeping MSOE and clinching the number two spot in the season ending league tournament.
The Sabres started the sweep with a 5-1 win on Friday night then completed the series with an 11-2 win behind a 5-goal attack from freshman Mike Dittrich.
Minn-Crookston completed their first MCHA regular season schedule by sweeping Northland. The ‘Jacks did not go down without a fight as a rally fell short Friday night in a 7-2 defeat, then on Saturday they came to within one in third period before the Golden Eagles pulled away for the 4-2 win.
In exhibition action, Lawrence beat Marquette in overtime 4-3.
And Then There Was One...
Only one spot in the MCHA Tournament is left to fill and that is between Northland and Lawrence.
The Vikings are two points behind with four games left, meaning that Lawrence must win at least two of their final four games and Northland would have to get swept in their final two MCHA games at Marian next week.
Lawrence will start that stretch of games this weekend when they host Marian. The Sabres swept the two meetings earlier this season by a combined score of 25-1. The Vikings will face MSOE next week.
Minn-Crookston takes on Bethel (MN) in the only other weekend series involving MCHA teams.

defenseman Neil Andruschak (Grandview, Manitoba)
has been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Andruschak, the Golden Eagle captain, scored the game winner on Friday then came back with the go ahead score on Saturday to help propel Minnesota, Crookston to a sweep of MCHA-rival Northland.
Andruschak is a junior Sport & Recreation Management major.

Marian & MSOE Score Wins Last Week
Marian College swept an MCHA series at Northland College to propel themselves into 2nd place tie with MSOE in the MCHA standings.
The Sabres beat the ‘Jacks 7-1 on Friday night with a school-record 3 power play goals from senior C.J. Koroll. On Saturday, Northland scored twice in the game’s opening two minutes before Marian rallied for a 8-5 victory.
In non-conference action MSOE scored a 5-4 win at St. Olaf (MN) on Saturday. Raider goalie Sam Carrico had 36 saves in the victory.
Lawrence scored a 3-2 overtime exhibition win over UW-Whitewater and Minnesota-Crookston had a 6-1 exhibition win over Itasca Community College.
MSOE Hosts Marian in Key MCHA Showdown
Marian and MSOE have had many battles over their short hockey history and this weekend will be no exception with 2nd place in the MCHA standings on the line
With only three weeks until the MCHA Tournament this series will be a battle for position. A Marian sweep would give them the tie-breaker and a 4-point lead with two games in hand. MSOE needs a sweep against both Marian and Lawrence the following week to make a run at the number two spot.
Minn-Crookston travels to Northland in the league’s other match-up, while Lawrence hosts two more exhibition contest against DePaul and Marquette.
Player of the Week

Marian College senior forward C.J. Koroll (Roselle, IL) has been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Koroll had a Marian-record 3 power play goals in a 7-1 win last Friday over Northland College. The senior came back on Saturday with a hat-trick, two of those scores with the man advantage in an 8-5 win over Northland.
Koroll is a Business Management major.

Lawrence Notches First Win of the Season
Lawrence University notched their first win of the season on Friday night, beating visiting MCHA-foe Northland College 3-2. It also was Dave Ruhly’s first win on the Vikings bench.
The Vikings almost put together back-to-back wins on Saturday, but the ‘Jacks held strong and rallied for a 5-5 tie to possibly save their MCHA Tournament hopes.
Lawrence has four MCHA games left, two with Marian and two with MSOE, and must win at least two of them and hope Northland loses their four remaining games, all with Marian, to get into the season-ending MCHA Tournament.
Minnesota-Crookston fell to Concordia (MN) earlier in the week 5-2. Concordia entered the contest in the top spot in the MIAC.
Marian Returns to MCHA Play This Weekend
After a 6-week absence from the conference schedule, Marian College returns to MCHA play with a 2-game set at Northland.
Including this weekend series, the Sabres will play the next four straight weeks versus MCHA opponents to lead into the MCHA Tournament.
Lawrence and Minnesota-Crookston play in exhibition action this weekend.
Player of the Week

sophomore forward Tom Conti (Dunwoody, GA)
has been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Conti combined for three goals and four assists in an MCHA 2-game series with Northland College that saw the Vikings get their first win of the season on Friday.

Minnesota-Crookston Wraps Up Regular Season Title

The University of Minnesota, Crookston in just their first year in the league has wrapped up the regular season title with a sweep of Lawrence University this past weekend.
The Golden Eagles outscored the fifth place Vikings 21-1. On Friday the Golden Eagles, won 10-1 then followed it up with an 11-0 shutout on Saturday.
In clinching the regular season crown, Minn-Crookston has claimed the top-seed in the MCHA Tournament on February 25th & 26th at the Ponds in Brookfield in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
In other action, MSOE took a pair from Northland to propel themselves into second place in the MCHA standings. The Raiders held off the ‘Jacks for a 6-3 win on Friday, then won 12-2 on Saturday.
Marian battled out of conference against UW-Stevens Point. The Pointers ranked sixth in the nation swept both games in the home-and-home series, 7-1 and 5-2.
Two MCHA Match-ups and a Homecoming on Tap for This Week
Only three games involve MCHA teams this week.
On Wednesday, Minn-Crookston battles in-state rival Concordia-Moorehead in a battle of first place teams. Concordia sits atop the standings in the MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference).
This weekend Lawrence and Northland will do battle in an MCHA series in Appleton, Wisconsin. Lawrence will have to sweep the series for any shot at making the MCHA Tournament in February.
Player of the Week

For the second straight week,
Milwaukee School of Engineering sophomore forward Mike Turcott (Brookfield, WI) has been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Turcott had a hand in 10 of the Raiders 18 goals in their weekend sweep of Northland. The forward had five goals and five assists as MSOE staked a claim on second place in the MCHA with the sweep.
Turcott, a Business major, hails from Brookfield, Wisconsin.

MSOE
and Northland Start Off Y2K

The Milwaukee School of Engineering and Northland College started off play in the year each hosting a pair of non-conference foes this past weekend.

M.S.O.E swept a pair of games from Neumann College (PA). On Friday the Raiders set the tone for the weekend out-shooting the Knights 49-14 en route to a 6-0 shutout. Neumann put up more of a fight on Saturday taking a 1-0 lead early in the second before MSOE erupted for four unanswered to claim a 4-2 win.
Northland did not have similar luck with Minnesota based Hamline. The ‘Jacks went down 6-3 on Saturday then suffered an 8-4 loss on Sunday.
Two MCHA Match-ups and a Homecoming on Tap for This Week
Two MCHA match-ups and a homecoming of sorts is on tap this coming weekend.
The MSOE and Northland series will go along way to determining seeding for the MCHA Tournament in February. The Raiders hold a slim two-point advantage in the standings as the two squads currently occupy the third and fourth place spots. Games Friday and Saturday each begin at 7:30pm from Ashland, Wisconsin.
Minnesota-Crookston can all but lock up the regular season crown and the number seed in the MCHA Tournament with a sweep of visiting Lawrence in the other league series. The puck drops at 7:30pm on Friday and 2:00pm on Saturday.
Marian College Coach Paul Caufield will make a homecoming of sorts when Sabres play nationally ranked UW-Stevens Point this week. Caufield, a 3-time All-American at UWSP, is still the Pointers all-time scoring champ and played on three national championship teams (1989-91). Friday’s game is in Stevens Point at 7:05pm and the teams play in Fond du Lac on Saturday at 4:00pm.

Marian Gets Back Into Race With Sweep of MSOE

Marian College broke a school record 7-game losing streak by sweeping a two-game MCHA series from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
The Sabres after trailing 2-1 to the Raiders on Friday night exploded for six unanswered to win the series opener 7-2.
The series finale on Saturday took on a much more physical atmosphere as there were a combined 27 penalties for 62 penalty minutes. With Marian up 1-0 entering the third period, senior forward and MCHA scoring leader Dave Chipman (Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored two of the Sabres three goals in the frame to give them a 4-1 win.

has been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Odegard had eight points as his three goals and five assists help lead Marian to a two-game sweep of MSOE
Odegard, a Business major, is tied for fourth in nation in NCAA Division III with 2 short-handed goals.

Minnesota-Crookston Keeps Rolling Along
The University of Minnesota, Crookston continued rolling along as they swept a pair of games from the Milwaukee School of Engineering to extend their lead atop the MCHA standings.
In the opener, the Golden Eagles streaked out to a 4-0 lead en route to a 4-1 win. Mike Dickson continued to his hot play in net as he stopped 22 of 23 MSOE shots. The Eagles once again raced out to a big lead in Saturday’s game as they scored three times in the first period to cruise to a 5-0 shutout of the Raiders.
Marian played a pair of MIAC schools in St. Thomas and St. Mary’s and was minutes away from two huge victories. Marian held a 4-3 lead on nationally ranked St. Thomas with 8:00 minutes to go before the Tommies put two in late for a 5-4 win on Saturday, a St. Mary’s shorthanded goal late sent the Sabres to their second straight 5-4 loss.
Northland split a pair with MIAC member Hamline winning Friday, 7-6, and falling Saturday, 4-1.
Marian and MSOE Match-up Only Series on MCHA Slate
A Marian and MSOE league series in Fond du Lac are the only games on the league schedule this week.
Friday’s game will be played at the Fond du Lac Rec. Center at the south end of the County Fairgrounds complex at 7:30pm.
Saturday’s game will be back at the Blue Line Ice Center at 8:00pm.

freshman forward Scott Ball (Garden City, MI)
has been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Ball, a native of Garden City, Michigan, had 2 points and a plus/minus of +3 in the Sabres 5-4 near upset of nationally ranked St. Thomas on Friday night.
The freshman followed up that performance with a goal in a 5-4 loss to St. Mary’s (MN) on Saturday. For the week, he had two goals on five shots and an assist for three points.
Ball, an undeclared major, is the Sabres second leading scorer with 19 points on the season.

Minn-Crookston In the Top Spot
In their first year in the MCHA, The University of Minnesota, Crookston has definitely made their presence felt as they sit alone on top of the league’s standings after a sweep of Marian this past weekend.
In the opener the Golden Eagles won 3-0, behind goalie Mike Dickson, who stoned the high-powered Sabres for his second shutout of the season. In the finale, Minn-Crookston pulled off a 5-2 win for a commanding lead in the standings.
MSOE kept pace with Minn-Crookston after taking a pair from Lawrence. The Raiders needed three third period scores to pull away from the Vikings, 5-3 in the first game. Raider goaltender Sam Carrico then stepped up to shut down the Vikings in a 3-0 shutout on Saturday.
Earlier in the week, Marian out-shot UW-River Falls, but three goals in the span of three minutes in the second period spelled doom for the Sabres as they lost 4-0.
Interesting Match-ups Highlight Weekend Slate
Three interesting match-ups highlight the MCHA schedule this weekend.
Minn-Crookston controls their own destiny towards an MCHA title as they meet up with MSOE in a battle of the league’s top two teams.
Marian hosts a St. Thomas (MN) on Friday that is ranked 4th in the nation. Then plays St. Mary’s on Saturday.
Northland travels to Hamline in another MCHA-MIAC series this weekend.

freshman goaltender Mike Dickson (Carleton Place, Ontario)
has been named MCHA Player of the Week.
Dickson has been fire on ice the past two weeks after being named US College Hockey Online National Defensive Player of the Week, he stopped 58 of 60 shots, leading the Golden Eagles to a pivotal two-game sweep of Marian College this past weekend.
Dickson, a Sport & Recreation Management major, is 3-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA in MCHA games this season.

Minn-Crookston Takes Two From Augsburg

The University of Minnesota, Crookston took a pair games from Augsburg College this weekend. Eagles goaltender Mike Dickson shutout the Auggies, 3-0 on Friday. On Saturday, Marc Lemieux scored the game-winner 9:20 into the third for a 2-1 win.
Marian fell in two games to Lake Forest (IL). The Sabres dropped the opener 10-1, after trailing 4-1 entering the third, Lake Forest erupted for 6 unanswered in the third. In the series finale the changed hands three times before the Foresters put one by 7:50 in the third for the game winner.
Lawrence had a rough trip to Minnesota as the Vikings lost three times, dropping two at St. Olaf, then losing on Sunday at Gustavus Adolphus.
Marian and Minn-Crookston Double the Fun This Weekend
Two of the MCHA's frontrunners, Marian and Minn-Crookston, meet this weekend for their league series and the stakes are doubled.
Since these will be the only two games the pair play each game will carry double the points as their are 8 points on the line.
MSOE and Lawrence meet in the other league series as the Raiders try to keep pace, while the Vikings look to get some points on the board.
Northland will play a pair of exhibition contests to round out the action for the league’s teams.

Lemieux scored the game-winner, 9:20 into the third period to give the Eagles a 2-1 victory over Augsburg College on Saturday. He also netted a goal in a 3-0 win on Friday.
Lemieux, a native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, is a Sport & Recreation Management major.

Minn-Crookston Sweeps First Ever League Series

The University of Minnesota, Crookston swept their first ever MCHA series taking a pair from Northland, 7-4 and 6-1.
Northland fell short in a comeback in the opener scoring three to open the third and come within one (5-4) before Minn-Crookston scored then pulled away scoring two. In the finale, the Eagles trailed 1-0 before ripping off six unanswered for the 6-1 win.
Marian was down right "offensive" outscoring Lawrence, 25-1, in taking two games for their first MCHA wins of the season.
MSOE carried the MCHA flag back east and scored a tie and a win over Buffalo State in Buffalo, New York. The Raiders win came on a third period short-handed goal for a 2-1 score on Saturday.
Plenty of Action Over the Holiday Weekend
MCHA teams won’t take long for their turkey to settle before strapping on the skates. Four teams are in action over the holiday weekend.
Marian will play a home-and-home series with Lake Forest. Minn-Crookston will host Augsburg, Lawrence will travel to Gustavus, while Northland hosts a Thanksgiving Tournament.
League play will resume the following week (Dec. 3) as Marian travels to Minn-Crookston in a battle of preseason favorites and MSOE makes the trip up to Lawrence for a pair.

freshman goaltender Justin Richter (Hamel, MN)
is the MCHA Player of the Week as he padded 77 saves going 1-0-1 in the Raiders two games with Buffalo State.
Richter had 32 saves, 9 in the final period, in MSOE’s 2-1 win over Buffalo State on Saturday. Richter, a native of Hamel, Minnesota, is an Architectural Engineering major.

Lumberjacks Chop Down Lawrence in League Series
Northland College chopped down MCHA-foe Lawrence and evened their league record at 2-2 with a two game sweep of the Vikings.  The 'Jacks posted a 2-1 win on Friday night then completed the sweep with a 10-1 win on Saturday.
Northland also fell in the battle for the Lake Superior Cup versus St. Scholastica, 5-3 in front of a crowd of over 1,200 fans at the first ever game at the Saints-Hilltoppers Arena in Duluth, MN.  This is the first time the Lake Superior Cup was on the line and will be an annual game for the two schools.
In other action, MSOE went 0-1-1 for the week losing to Hamline 4-0 then posting a 6-6 overtime tie.  The tie trend continued in Minn-Crookston's exhibition series with Minot State-Bottineau as the Eagles won the series opener 9-8 then tied 4-4 in the finale. 
Two League Series and All Five Teams in Action This Week
This week the MCHA features a pair of league series and all five teams in action.  Marian, who has not played since October 30th, will have their home opener and league opener on this weekend (Nov. 19-20th) when they host Lawrence. Minn-Crookston will play their inaugural MCHA series this weekend as they host Northland and MSOE will take the long ride to Buffalo, New York for a pair with Buffalo State.

Northland College sophomore forward Darin Egerer (Troy, MI)
is the MCHA Player of the Week as he scored five goals to lead the 'Jacks to a series sweep over MCHA-foe Lawrence last weekend.
Egerer provided all the scoring in the 'Jacks 2-1 win on Friday, then netted a hat trick on Saturday's 10-1 victory. Egerer, a native of Troy, Michigan, is a Business major.

Sweeps Northland in League Series
The Milwaukee School of Engineering got the 1999-2000 MCHA season started by sweeping their league series with Northland College.
The Raiders rallied from a 3-0 deficit to post a 5-3 win on Friday. Then they gave the ‘Jacks a case of deja’vu on Saturday coming back from a 2-1 margin for another 5-3 win.
Minnesota-Crookston went 2-1 in three exhibition games at the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Fall Classic, while Lawrence dropped a pair of exhibition contests to the junior varsity squad from St. Norbert.
Lawrence at Northland Highlights This Week's Slate
This week’s action is highlighted by an MCHA match-up as Lawrence visits Northland. The ‘Jacks will look to right the ship after an 0-2, while Lawrence plays its first contest after four exhibitions. Both Friday (Nov. 12) an Saturday (Nov. 13) games start at 7:30pm.
Northland will warm-up for their series playing a rare Tuesday night (Nov. 9) contest at St. Scholastica. In other action this week, MSOE will host Hamline (MN) for two games and Minn-Crookston will host Minot State-Bottineau in a two-game exhibition.

sophomore defenseman Ryan Moren (Lakeville, MN)
is the MCHA Player of the Week as he broke a 2-2 tie scoring two unassisted goals in a span of 3:09 in the third period to propel MSOE to a 5-3 win on Saturday and a sweep of Northland.
Moren, a construction management/architectural engineering major, had an assist along with his two goals in the Northland series.

Minnesota-Crookston Splits UW-Stout Series

The University of Minnesota-Crookston split a pair of games with UW-Stout winning Friday, 4-3, then falling on Saturday, 5-2.
The win gave the MCHA a 2-6 record versus teams from the NCHA. Marian also split with UW-Stout a week ago.
Marian finished 2nd at the Buffalo State Invitational smoking Neumann (PA), 10-1 then falling to Buffalo State, 5-3 in the title game.
MSOE dropped a pair to NCHA member Lake Forest, 7-3, 7-2, in the other MCHA series from last week.
MCHA Starts Second Season This Week
The MCHA will begin its second season of league competition in Milwaukee, WI this Friday & Saturday (November 5 & 6) when Northland visits MSOE
The 1999-2000 season will end where it begins as MSOE hosts the 2000 MCHA Tournament at the Ponds in Brookfield on February 25 & 26.

is the MCHA Player of the Week as he scored the game winner 15:58 into the third period to propel the Golden Eagles to a 4-3 win over UW-Stout.
Swenson, a Sport & Recreation Management major, scored three goals for the week as the Golden Eagles earned the split over UW-Stout.

Marian Has Historic Win Over UW-Stout
Marian College starting their fifth season of hockey had an historic win Saturday beating UW-Stout, 5-1. The win was historic as it was the first time in 17 games that the Sabres beat a team from Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
UW-Stout continues their run of MCHA teams on their schedule as they travel to UM-Crookston this Friday and Saturday.
In other action this coming weekend, MSOE plays its third straight game against an NCHA squad as they travel to Lake Forest. Marian hits the road to the Buffalo State Tournament in Buffalo, NY. Lawrence, under first year coach Dave Ruhly will host Lake Forest’s JV squad in an exhibition to begin their season.
MCHA Starts Second Season Next Week
The MCHA will begin its second season of league competition in Milwaukee, WI next week (November 5 & 6) when Northland visits MSOE.
The 1999-2000 season will end where it begins as MSOE hosts the 2000 MCHA Tournament at the Ponds in Brookfield on February 25 & 26.
Player of the Week

Marian College
sophomore goaltender Mark Wasco (Chicago, IL)
had 45 saves in the Sabres 5-1 win over UW-Stout on Saturday to be the first MCHA Player of the Week for the 1999-2000 season. For Wasco, a member of 1998-99 MCHA All-Academic team, it was his fifth career start.

MCHA Teams Start Action This Week
Two MCHA teams start their respective seasons this week as Marian College and Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) take on a pair of NCHA schools.
On Friday October 23rd Marian will play UW-Eau Claire while MSOE takes on UW-Stout. The two teams will alternate opponents on Saturday October 24th.
The first league series will be on Friday November 5th and Saturday November 6th as Northland travels to MSOE

UM-Crookston Tops Preseason Poll
In their first year in the league the University of Minnesota, Crookston debuts in the top spot in MCHA Preseason Poll. Coaches and media from the league voted in the poll.
UM-Crookston, an NCAA Division II school, was 7-7 a year ago as an independent. Following them in the poll was the league’s second place team from a ago, Marian College.
Rounding out the poll are MSOE, Northland College, and Lawrence University.
