As league play continues, teams are beginning to make noise and some moves in early-season action.

On the men’s side, Trine pulled off the upset of No. 2 Adrian, knocking off the Bulldogs for the first time in program history. A night after it was unable to hold a lead, the Thunder took care of business from the start – scoring six unanswered goals after falling behind 1-0 in earning the 6-2 victory.

Shoutout to St. Norbert head coach Tim Coghlin, who recorded victory No. 625 at the helm of the Green Knights to set a new NCAA Division III record for most at one school. He topped the prior record of 624 held by Bob Emery at Plattsburgh State (1989-2019). Coghlin’s career win total now sits 11th-most in all divisions after SNC finished off a two-game sweep of Finlandia with a 3-1 decision.

Down 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2, Lawrence knocked MSOE off of the ranks of the league unbeatens with a thrilling overtime victory, seeing Jayden Jensen score his first collegiate goal to send the Vikings home a winner at the 3-minute mark of the extra session.

And for the second time in less than 24 hours, Lake Forest skated to a tie with No. 11 Aurora, earning an extra point in the league standings with a shootout victory. In addition, Concordia Wisconsin blanked Marian, 4-0, behind an impressive 52-save performance by freshman Gabe Rosek in net.

On the women’s side, Adrian keeps on a-rolling, improving to a perfect 8-0 on the season with a 3-0 shutout of Trine.

The Lake Forest women nearly followed suit with the men, taking No. 14 Aurora to overtime with a goal with just 14.9 seconds remaining in a 2-2 draw. The Spartans then came up with the 2-1 shootout victory to grab the extra point.

The St. Norbert women are quietly 6-1-2 overall and are now 4-0 in NCHA play after blowing out Finlandia, 8-0. Morgan Olson had a pair of goals and Evi Johnson posted the shutout in goal. Concordia Wisconsin is in the same position, improving to a perfect 4-0 in league play with a 2-1 defeat of Marian. Down 1-0 early in the second period, the Falcons got goals from Amanda Bauer and Natalia Etter to move to 6-1-1 on the season.
