NCHA Friday: FIVE STRAIGHT for SNC Women!

Friday Night Action!

A night of solid results across the NCHA on Friday night, with both St. Norbert teams taking care of business. The SNC women continue their impressive start to the season, extending a school record in the process by posting their FIFTH straight shutout, this time by a final score of 3-0 over Concordia Wisconsin.

The Green Knights are on an amazing streak, outscoring the opposition 32-0 over the past five games as well as 40-1 on its current six-game winning streak. The team is now 8-1-2 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in NCHA play. The team even went without a penalty for just the third time in school history, handing the Falcons their first league loss of the season (now 4-1).

The St. Norbert men moved to 5-0 in NCHA play as well, also topping CUW, with a 4-1 decision powered behind an impressive 58-24 advantage in shots in the contest.

Trine got a pair of victories from its teams, seeing the men double-up Marian, 6-3, behind two goals and two assists from Garrett Hallford to get back to .500 on the season at 5-5-1. The Thunder women scored four unanswered goals after falling in a 3-0 hole to hand interim head coach Melissa Kraus a win in her debut with the improbable comeback.

The Adrian men snapped MSOE’s three-game win streak in a 5-1 victory, getting goals from five different players and 29 saves in net from Dershahn Stewart.

Two other shutouts were showcased on the women’s side, seeing Aurora move to 8-1-1 and 4-0-1 in league play with a 5-0 win over Lawrence and Lake Forest getting a season-high goal tally in a 7-0 blanking of Northland. Abby Meyer recorded her first points of the season, finishing with a pair of goals and an assist to pace the Foresters. For AU, Madison Gasper (2G/1A) and Darci Matson (1G/3A) powered the offense and Samantha Steciak making 17 saves for the shutout.
