Gregory Named Northland Interim Athletic Director

Ashland, WI -  Northland College announced Thursday that Head Men's Hockey Coach Seamus Gregory will assume the duties of Athletic Director on an Interim basis effective immediately.

Gregory will manage the 14 NCAA sport department with the departure of Athletic Director Kim Falkenhagen who resigned this past week to explore other professional opportunities.

"I'm excited for the opportunity and I hope I can continue the momentum Kim provided. She worked very hard to get our programs where they are today".

Gregory was hired by Northland College in July of 2014 to lead their Men's Ice Hockey Program and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director in April of 2015. His duties included athletic advancement and community development.

"For President - Marvin Suomi, Chief Operating Officer - Karl Solibakke, and VP of Student Affairs - Dr. Hal Haynes to have the confidence in me is a great honor. I truly believe Northland Athletics is a diamond in the rough of Division 3 Athletics in the Upper Midwest. Our athletic staff is very talented and hard-working. Our core is strong and that makes the transition quite seamless" said Gregory.

In addition to Gregory taking the Interim AD duties. Kelly Rider, Head Women's Hockey Coach will assume the role of Interim Associate Athletic Director. "Kelly is very thorough, organized, and a fantastic Coach, said Gregory. I'm very happy she has agreed to take on these responsibilities mid-season".

Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
