How About Those 'Jacks??

The Northland College men's team got the weekend started with a bang, knocking off the consensus No. 1 team in the nation when the Lumberjacks upset St. Norbert by a final score of 5-4. The 'Jacks raced out to an amazing 4-0 lead, but had to hang on for dear life against the Green Knights. SNC scored four times in the final period, but came up a goal short in the memorable victory for the Lumberjacks. Bailey Shaver had the game-winner and AJ Smith made an impressive 45 saves.

In other action, Nick Malvin made 30 saves as Concordia Wisconsin claimed a 3-1 win over Trine, Louis De Courcy posted a 33-save shutout for Lake Forest and Sam Williams netted a pair of goals in the third period to complete the 4-3 comeback win for St. Scholastica. Another thriller saw Lawrence score two goals in just over a minute late in the third period to pull out a 5-4 stunner.

On the women's side, Molly Scarborough's 23 saves helped Trine to a 3-1 win over Aurora, Adrian scored three times in the third period to claim the 4-3 comeback victory over Lake Forest and St. Norbert clipped Marian, 2-1.
