NCAA Tournament Fields Announced

Four NCHA Teams Make NCAA Tournament Fields

It was an unprecedented morning for the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, which saw four of its teams earn spots in their respective NCAA Tournament fields.

On the women’s side, Adrian College – which finished 22-5-1 this season and was runner-up in the NCAA Championship a year ago – will travel to face Elmira in the opening round of the NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Championships. The quarterfinal games are scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10.

On the men’s side, three different programs will be vying for a national championship, with St. Norbert College (24-4-1), Adrian College (24-5-0) and Marian University (20-7-1) all in the 2018 field. This marks the first time the NCHA men's side will be sending three teams to the national tournament.

The appearance for the Green Knights is their 18th and the squad is 19-4 in its last 23 NCAA Tournament games dating back to 2008. It’s the sixth in a row (and eighth overall) for the Bulldogs. Meanwhile, the Sabres will be making their first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.

First-round action will get underway March 10, with the Sabres taking on Augsburg College (18-9-0). The Green Knights await the winner of that matchup in the quarterfinal round March 17. The Bulldogs also received a bye into the quarterfinal round and will take on Stevens Point (20-5-3) that same day.
