Women’s Hockey shut out the Sabres

MEQUON, Wis. – It was all Falcons on Saturday night inside the Ozaukee Ice Center. The Falcons walked away with a 3-0 victory over Marian to improve to 2-0-0 in the NCHA and to 4-5-0 on the year.

"It was a solid performance from the entire team," said head coach Steve Fabiilli. "We had everyon chipping in and are taking a total team effort mentality. It was great to see a bunch of first as well with some career goals from Savage, Schneider and Noyle this weekend and a first career shutout for Van Hercke."

Senior Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska) started the scoring 31 second into the game, tapping in a loose puck off a shot from sophomore Ali Eiden (Rosemount, Minn.). Junior Sarah Tretina (Plainfield, Ill.) also had her first of three assists on the night.

Ally Hull struck again on the power play in the second period with a shot in front of the net past the Marian goalie. With assists credited to Ali Eiden and Sarah Tretina.

Sophomore Isabela Noyle (Baltimore, Md.) scored her first collegiate goal on a one-timer off a pass from junior Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.). Noyle had recorded her first assist as a Falcon on Friday night at Marian.

Sophomore Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) and the CUW defense was a wall on Saturday night. Van Hercke posted 14 saves in her first collegiate shut out.

The Falcons held a 43-14 shots advantage on Saturday, Ally Hull led all player with seven.

Junior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) helped the Falcons maintain possession and won 18 faceoffs against the Sabres.

CUW improves to 4-0-0 on the year against Marian and will play the Sabres again on Friday night.
