MEQUON, Wis. – Saint John's hockey recorded its second tie in as many days, a 2-2 draw at No. 15 Concordia (Wis.), on Saturday, Nov. 25, in Mequon, Wis.

Junior forward Robb Stautz (Roseville, Minn.) scored what proved to be the game-tying goal for SJU (6-2-2, 2-2-0 MIAC) with 2:18 remaining, 31 seconds after a Johnnie power play expired. Senior forward Sam Valerius (Maple Grove, Minn.) and freshman defenseman Travis Brown (Otsego, Minn.) assisted on the goal, which was Stautz's third of the weekend.

Freshman goaltender Mac Berglove (Elk River, Minn.) made a season-high 39 saves in the tie. SJU went 0-for-5 on the power play, including the aforementioned man advantage with 4:49 to play, and failed to score on 1:45 of a 5-on-3 power play.

Following a scoreless first period, sophomore forward Brady Heppner (Crookston, Minn.) gave SJU a 1-0 lead 6:22 into the second with a pretty 2-on-1 goal from freshman forward Ryan Kero (Hermantown, Minn.). Junior forward Joe Chitwood (Carmel, Ind.) tallied the second assist on the goal, Heppner's fourth of the season and 10th of his career.

Taylor Gauld tied the game at 1-1 for CUW (6-1-1, 3-1-0 NCHA) on the power play, the Falcons' third of the second period, with 1:39 left in the frame. Josh Adkins gave the home team, which went 1-for-6 on the power play, a 2-1 lead with 8:28 remaining.

The Johnnies return to MIAC play with a pair of road games at Saint Mary's next weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. puck-drop on Friday, Dec. 1, in Winona.
