Women’s Hockey secures second seed in the NCHA North

APPLETON, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team locked itself into the No. 2 seed in the NCHA North Division with a 6-1 victory at Lawrence on Saturday evening. The Falcons improve to 7-7-0 and to 4-2-0 in the NCHA North Division.

Senior Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska) continued her hot streak on Saturday after an eight-point performance on Friday. Hull scored 104 seconds into the game with assists to junior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) and junior Sarah Tretina (Plainfield, Ill.).

Three minutes later, freshman Autumn Lindgren (Plymouth, Minn.) lit the light off a pass from senior Maddie Savage (Grand Rapids, Mich.) for her first collegiate goal.

The Vikings scored their lone goal of the game in the first period.

Senior Avrielle Schneider (Gilbert, Minn.) responded with an unassisted goal.

Hull closed the first period with a goal from freshman Amanda Carney (Aurora, Ont.) and Emily Reimche.

Junior Sarah Pearson scored on the power play in the second period with an assist from Emily Reimche.

Sarah Tretina scored the final goal of the game in the third period.

Senior Shae Petersen (Rhinelander, Wis.) collected 19 saves.

The Falcons close the regular season next weekend against Lawrence.
