NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Lexie Martinez scored a hat trick to lead visiting Aurora University to a 7-1 victory over the St. Olaf College women's hockey team in non-conference action on Friday evening at St. Olaf Ice Arena.
Senior

Martinez scored once in each period to lead the way for the Spartans, while Nicole McKernan and Marissa Trevino had a goal and two assists apiece.
Glaaser gave the Oles a very-early lead at 1:04 of the opening period, re-directing a shot from
Samantha Martin from the right point over the right shoulder of the goalie from the edge of the right circle for her first of the season. Martin's assist was her first collegiate point, while junior

Annika Patterson.
St. Olaf killed off a pair of Spartan power plays after Glaaser's goal, but Aurora cashed in on its third power-play chance of the game when Martinez put in a rebound in front just 11 seconds after a hooking penalty to tie the game at 1-1 at 17:18.
Martinez put the Spartans ahead with her second goal of the night just 39 seconds into the second period, lifting a backhand under the bar off an assist from Olivia Monzel. Later in the period, St. Olaf generated three chances to tie it in quick succession, with Pfosi producing a save to deny first year
Chloe LaFond on a breakaway and two more to deny sophomore
Bonnie Paulson and junior
Shannon O'Brien moments later.
Aurora took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission on an unassisted goal by Sadie Parton at 14:24, as Parton weaved into the zone and fired a shot high into the net from the top of the right circle. The Spartans tacked on four goals in the third period, as Martinez completed her hat trick ta 7:31 before goals from McKernan, Marissa Dunbar and Trevino.
Pfosi improved to 3-0-0 on the season with 27 saves for the Spartans, making 24 of her 27 stops over the final two periods. Sophomore
Ivy Shonka suffered the loss with a 22-save night for the Oles in the first 50:11 before junior
