Men’s Hockey Completes Comeback at Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. – The CUW men's hockey team continued its road trip with a game at Wisconsin-Stout Saturday night.

Stout jumped ahead early, scoring their first goal in the 8th minute.

The Blue Devils pulled ahead further with a power-play goal in the 12th minute.

The Falcons didn't stop fighting as they scored a short-handed goal off the stick of senior Luc Kreuser (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) with an assist from senior Salvatore Scalise (Calgary, Alta.) just one minute later.

The first period saw a final score of 1-2 in favor of the Blue Devils. 

The Blue Devils came out fast in the second period.  Their third goal came at the eight-minute mark of the second period which gave them a 3-1 lead.

The Falcons pulled back within one with a goal from sophomore Jacob Shankar (Johnstown, Ont.) with an assist from sophomore Tyler Pang (Victoria, B.C.).

The Falcons evened the score with an unassisted goal in the 13th minute from senior Cory Dennis (Madison, Wis.).

The Falcons took the lead with 42 seconds left in the second period off the stick of Scalise from a rebounded save.  Posting the assists on the goal were Kreuser and Shankar.

The Falcons went into the second intermission with a one goal advantage.

The Falcons came out hot in the third period with a power-play goal within the first minute of the period.  The goal was netted by sophomore Jordan Guiney (Victoria, B.C.).

The Blue Devils inched closer, netting a goal in the 16th minute of the third period, drawing to within one.
The Falcons wouldn't let that happen as they ended the matchup with the 5-4 win.

The Falcons return to action when they take on Aurora on November 4th.
