ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine hockey team took a break from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) schedule hosting Marian University at Drake Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats fell to the Sabres 1-0. 

Marian converted on 1 of 4 power-play opportunities scoring with the player advantage at 1:58 in the second holding the Wildcats scoreless for five chances. 

Laura Denchfield led the shot count for St. Kate's firing off nine with five in the last period. Veronica Gruett was determined but unable to get past the Sabres goaltender with six shots. 

Abby Severson made 32 saves in the game. 

The Wildcats are on the road Friday heading to the Super Rink to play Bethel University at 7 pm. They return to Drake Arena on Saturday at 5 pm for game two of the MIAC series.
