SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's hockey team's 2021-22 home opener pitted them against Adrian at TRIA Rink on Saturday. The Pipers couldn't find the score column in a 5-0 loss to the Bulldogs.
Hamline falls to 1-1 while Adrian improves to 2-1.

The Bulldogs cruised to a 2-0 advantage after the first period courtesy of goals from Reghan Pietrowski at the 6:18 mark, and Jessica VonRuden at 13:18 of the frame. Deja vu took its toll in the second period as Adrian added two more goals; as Kameron Anderson made the score 3-0 at the 8:15 mark, before Callie Wollschlager closed the game's scoring with back-to-back goals at 12:16 of the second and 10:32 of the third, which made things 5-0.
Ava Bailey made 27 saves in a complete-game losing effort in net for Hamline, while Denisa Jandova tallied 24 saves over 60:00 of work between the pipes for Adrian.
The Bulldogs outshot Hamline 32-24.
Hamline will host Augsburg on Friday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m.
