MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team hosted the Foresters of Lake Forest in the first of a home and home series.
The Falcons struck first with a 10th-minute goal from junior Colleen Gilligan (Colborne, Ont.).
Freshmen Katie Rahilly (Newberry, Mich.) and Amanda Bauer (Waunakee, Wis.) added assists.
The Foresters stormed in 41 seconds later to tie the game at one in the first period. They also scored their second goal later in the first period.
The Foresters took home three goals in the second period to extend the lead to four.
The final Forester goal came in the sixth minute of the third period on the power-play.
The Falcons fell to the Foresters with a final score of 6-1.
Junior Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) recorded 35 saves in her 59:54 in goal.
The Falcons look to bounce back at Lake Forest on Saturday.
