Women’s Hockey wraps up regular season

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The CUW women's hockey team completed the 2019-20 season on the road at Lake Forest on Saturday afternoon. The Foresters, standing in second place in the NCHA standings celebrated senior day with a 4-1 victory to push CUW to 8-14-2 on the season and to 7-8-1 in NCHA play.

The Foresters took the lead with a pair of second-period goals.

The Red and Black added to the lead with two goals in the third period.

Sophomore Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) put the Falcons on the scoreboard in the third period with a power-play goal.

Senior Breanna Thomson (St. Marys, Ont.) had 21 saves in the start.

The Falcons held a slim 26-25 shots advantage on Saturday with sophomore Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) leading the way with five shots on goal.

The Falcons will compete next weekend in the Slatts Cup Playoffs.

With the St. Norbert loss on Saturday, the Falcons clinched the No. 5 seed in the NCHA Playoffs and will take on Lake Forest.
