Women’s Hockey Blasts Lawrence on Senior Night

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team sent the senior class out in style with an 8-0 victory over Lawrence on Saturday night. The victory sends CUW to 8-7-0 on the year.

Junior Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) started the scoring off a rebound from sophomore Isabela Noyle (Baltimore, Md.) and freshman Amanda Carney (Aurora, Ont.) added the secondary assist.

Junior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) stole the puck and threw it into the back of the net to close the first period scoring.

The Falcons tied the school record with four second-period goals on Saturday.

Emily Reimche started the second period scoring with a shot in front of the net with assists from junior Sarah Pearson (South Range, Wis.) and senior Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska).

Ally Hull continued her scoring streak with a rebound from Megan McPike and Carney added the secondary assist.

Isabela Noyle scored a minute later off passes from Megan McPike and junior Baileigh Johnson (Neillsville, Wis.).

Sarah Tretina slid the puck past the keeper after Megan McPike sped past the Lawrence defense. Junior Kaytlin Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis.) added the secondary assist.

Ally Hull struck again to start off the third period after passes from Sarah Tretina and Kaytlin Johnson.

Freshman Colleen Gilligan (Colborne, Ont.) scored her first collegiate goal on the power play in the third period with Baileigh Johnson and Kaytlin Johnson adding the assists.

The Falcons held a 50-19 shots advantage on Saturday night. Senior Shea Petersen (Rhinelander, Wis.) earned her second career shut out with 19 saves.

Megan McPike led CUW with nine shots.

The Falcons were a perfect six-for-six on the penalty kill against the Vikings.

CUW looks to go for the sweep on Sunday at Lawrence.
