Women’s Hockey stumbles at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – The CUW women's hockey team came up short on Friday at Adrian. The Bulldogs won, 9-1, to improve to 4-0-0 on the year. The Falcons move 0-2-0 on the young season.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring with the first three goals on the afternoon.

Junior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) was able to redirect a shot from freshman Amanda Carney (Aurora, Ont.) to put the Falcons on the scoresheet. The assist was the first collegiate point for Carney.

The Black and Gold finished the game on a 6-0 run.

Sophomore Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) collected 29 saves in the net.

Emily Reimche led the Falcons with six shots and 10 faceoff victories on Friday.

Emily Reimche, junior Sarah Tretina (Plainfield, Ill.) and junior Kaytlin Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis.) all finished the game with two blocks.

The two teams will play again on Saturday in Wisconsin.
