ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Catherine hockey collected their second series sweep of the season with a 3-0 triumph over Lawrence University. The Wildcats improve to 4-0 on the season outscoring their opponents 15 to 1.
Sophia Gorski netted the first goal 8 minutes into the first burying a feed from
Marie Reimer and
Veronica Gruett.
Joslin Mumm made it 2-0 with just over three to play in the first tallying her first collegiate goal off a pass from Madison Flemming and Gruett.
Laura Denchfield scored the final goal of the game at 11:56 off the clock in the second. Denchfield's first goal of the season was assisted by Flemming from
Kaitlyn Blair.
Abby Severson had her first collegiate start and first collegiate shutout making 17 saves.
St. Kate's opens the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) season on Friday at Gustavus Adolphus College at 7 pm. The Wildcats return to Drake Arena hosting Gustavus on Saturday, November 13 at 2 pm.
