Women’s Hockey sinks the Vikings in the Third Period

Appleton, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team finished the 2021 regular season with an 8-0 victory at Lawrence. The Falcons finish the regular season with a 9-7-0 record and a 6-2-0 record in the NCHA North Division.

The Falcons and Vikings skated through the first period without a goal.

Junior Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) started the scoring in the second period.

Junior Sarah Tretina (Plainfield, Ill.) scored on the power play to close the period.

Senior Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska) scored in every game against the Vikings with a short-handed goal off passes from junior Kaytlin Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis.) and Sarah Tretina.

Junior Sarah Pearson (South Range, Wis.) found the back of the net off assists from junior Emily Reimche (Billings, Mont.) and Kaytlin Johnson.

A minute later, Megan McPike lit the lamp off passes from senior Avrielle Schneider (Gilbert, Minn.) and junior Baileigh Johnson (Neillsville, Wis.).

Ally Hull continued to prove herself as a Viking killer with a power-play goal.

Baileigh Johnson pushed the lead to 7-0 with a goal from sophomore Isabela Noyle (Baltimore, Md.) and Megan McPike.

Emily Reimche closed the scoring off an assist to Ally Hull.

The Falcons scored six goals in the third period. The most goals CUW has ever scored in a period.

This year, against Lawrence, Ally Hull scored 10 goals and six assists.

The Blue and White peppered the Lawrence net with 60 shots on Sunday night.

Sophomore Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) posted her second career shutout with 16 saves in the victory.

The Falcons will host Marian in the Slaats Cup Playoffs Quarterfinals on Tuesday night. Tuesday will be the first home playoff game in program history.
