HOUGHTON, Mich. - After over a week break, the Hamline men's hockey team (2-7-1, 1-3 MIAC) got back into it, traveling to Michigan to take on non-conference opponent Finlandia (2-7-1). The Pipers dropped the matchup, falling 4-1.

Sophomore
Bailey Martin was the lone Piper to score in the contest, finishing off passes from junior
Jake Cass and first year
Jackson Bond. Martin has now scored in each of the last three games, amassing six points in that time frame.
Â
Cass added his fifth assist of the season on the play and Bond tacked on another point to his conference-leading 13. Bond has tallied at least one point in nine out of 10 games this year, including the last six in a row.
Â
The Lions got on the board first in the game, scoring a little over halfway through the first period. They would then supplement that lead with two second-period goals that were less than a minute apart. The first goal was on a power play at 19:08 and the second was put in at 19:59.
Â
In the third, the Pipers pulled their goalie at 18:33 and Martin scored eight seconds later to put the game within two at 3-1. However, Finlandia found the empty net at 19:24 to seal the win.

Senior
Sam Nelson made 27 saves in net, as he continues to pace the MIAC in saves with 219 on the season. He also ranks fourth in save percentage (.920). He ended with the loss and is 2-3-1 on the year.
